With the college football season coming to a close with LSU taking home the 2020 National Championship on Monday evening, Lynn Bowden Jr.’s status as the SEC’s rushing champion is now official.
During his junior campaign in Lexington, Bowden finished the year as the top rusher in the league with 1,468 total yards, topping the 1414-yard mark set by LSU’s Clyde Edwards-Helaire this season. To add to the ridiculousness of Bowden’s record, he managed a whopping 1,370 rushing yards in just eight games as Kentucky’s starting quarterback, which would have still put him at No. 2 overall behind Edwards-Helaire in seven fewer games.
