Luke Fortner has received a prestigious honor for his work off the field. Friday afternoon the senior offensive guard was named to the 2020 Southeastern Conference Community Service Team.
When he wasn’t pushing players around on the Big Blue Wall, Fortner was helping kids in the community. Currently working toward his master’s degree in mechanical engineering, with the help of Toyota he designed and built a push-cart vehicle that enabled a patient from Kentucky Children’s Hospital to accompany the team on the pregame “Cat Walk” and attend a game at Kroger Field.
Fortner also made an impact at the Children’s Hospital through “Tuesdays With the Wildcats,” visiting patients at the hospital.
