Louisville: In the offseason, a couple of coaches familiar with Peter Sirmon’s work in the SEC reached out to the Misery Index to express dismay that Petrino would hire him as the Cardinals’ defensive coordinator. Last year, his defense at Mississippi State was a disaster, and the feeling around the league was that Dan Mullen got the way better end of the deal by swapping him out for Todd Grantham, who was Louisville’s defensive coordinator last year.
