Louisville native Ronnie Baker will have a chance to stake a claim to "fastest man in the world" at the Tokyo Olympics later this summer.
Baker, a Ballard High School graduate, finished second in the 100-meter dash at the U.S. Olympic Trials Sunday with a personal-best time of 9.85 seconds. As one of the top three finishers in the event, 27-year-old Baker earned a spot on the Olympic team.
"Not hit me yet," Baker said. "A weight lifted off my shoulders, and with God’s help I am here. I can’t wait to compete on a big stage.
