St. Xavier’s own Justin Thomas has won his second PGA Championship.
Thomas won the 2022 PGA Championship on Sunday following a three-hole playoff against Will Zalatoris. The Louisville, KY native posted a final round score of five-under-par before defeating Zalatoris in the bonus round. Thomas, who graduated from St. Xavier in 2011, also won the 2017 PGA Championship. This was his first major win since that victory five years ago.
Thomas, 29, entered Sunday at Southern Hills (Tulsa, OK) trailing the leader, Mito Pereira, by seven strokes, and was at one point down by eight before mounting a comeback on the final 10 holes.
