Every rain-soaked fan at Kroger Field knew one thing for sure -- Kentucky was going to run the ball, and run some more. That's all the Wildcats offense would do. Louisville was aware of that, too.
Did it matter?
Not at all. UK quarterback Lynn Bowden rushed for 284 yards and four touchdowns, breaking tackles and spirits en route to Kentucky's 45-13 trouncing of Louisville in the Governor's Cup.
It was the first for Louisville coach Scott Satterfield. The Cardinals could not keep up offensively and couldn't stop the 'Cats defensively.
Kentucky improved to seven wins, and both teams will play in a bowl game this season.
