Today in weird sports stories: Louisville and Mississippi State essentially just swapped defensive coordinators. This morning, Louisville defensive coordinator Todd Grantham accepted the same position at Mississippi State, where he will replace Peter Sirmon, who will reportedly replace him at Louisville. From FootballScoop.com:
Mississippi State defensive coordinator Peter Sirmon has agreed to become Louisville’s defensive coordinator, sources tell FootballScoop. The arrangement has been in the works for some time, sources told FootballScoop, but Louisville wanted to wait until current defensive coordinator Todd Grantham found new employment.
A few years back, Grantham reportedly turned down an offer from the Oakland Raiders to be defensive coordinator despite rumored friction with Bobby Petrino.
