Former Kentucky defensive back Lonnie Johnson Jr. is on the move. After three seasons in Houston, the Texans have traded the former second-round pick to the Kansas City Chiefs.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport was the first to report the trade, which includes a conditional seventh-round pick in 2024 being sent back to the Texans.
The Chiefs announced the acquisition shortly after the reported deal.
Johnson, 26, tweeted earlier in the day that he asked for a trade from the Texans. The request that was granted just hours later.
“Before y’all get to talking [crazy] on this app I asked for this myself,” Johnson wrote.
