Every four years, an extra day — Leap Day — is added to the end of February to balance the solar system’s disparity with the Gregorian calendar. According to some odd Irish tradition dating back to the 5th century, Leap Day is also a day in which women propose marriage to men, which you would have known had you seen the 2010 classic “Leap Year,” staring Amy Adams and Matthew Goode.
