Lawrence County High School has withdrawn from the 3A state playoffs due to COVID-19 and contact tracing.
The Bulldogs survived with a hard fought 22-20 win over Pike County Central in the first round of the playoffs Friday night.
They were scheduled for a rematch with Belfry in the next round, but that matchup is cancelled. The Pirates will move on to the next round and have a bye this week.
Lawrence County, which has battled COVID-19 issues all season, finishes with a record of 4-1.
Belfry (6-3) moves into the quarterfinals where they will await the winner of Ashland and Russell.
