At least one Kentucky Wildcat is moving on to match play at the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship, and the other still has a shot. Yesterday, senior Laney Frye shot even par to finish with a 2-over par 142 through 36 holes, which is tied for 39th place. This is her third straight cut at the event, which takes place at the Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles this year.
Frye’s Kentucky teammate Jensen Castle had a rough Tuesday, making six bogeys to only two birdies to finish 4-over par 144 through 36 holes. Castle is currently tied for 56th place with ten others and will participate in a 10-for-9 playoff this morning.
