Dontaie Allen was the star of Kentucky’s double overtime win at Mississippi State, but before we turn the page to Vanderbilt, it’s worth highlighting the contributions of another reserve: Lance Ware. The freshman forward played a career-high 35 minutes, pulling down a game-high 13 rebounds with a career-high four assists, four points, a block, and a steal. Playing alongside Olivier Sarr, Ware was part of the lineup that brought Kentucky back in the game and eventually to victory after two overtimes.
“Lance is one of our smarter players as a freshman,” UK assistant coach Bruiser Flint said yesterday.
