CBS Sports’ Matt Norlander ranked Knox 8th and Diallo 10th in his weekly ranking of the top freshmen in college basketball.
Knox is down one spot after scoring only four points and committing seven turnovers vs. Monmouth.
“Afterward, John Calipari said it was ‘good for the soul to go 1 for 9,'” Norlander writes. “It’s a great lesson for him. Kentucky is a quiet 8-1, but it will not be a threat to win the SEC if Knox isn’t an all-star type of player.”
While Knox floundered in New York, Diallo flourished, scoring 23 points in his homecoming.
