LEXINGTON, Ky. - Kentucky football kickoff specialist Grant Mckinniss is planning to transfer out of the program
A UK spokeswoman confirmed the news first reported by Rivals.com Friday.
McKinniss arrived at UK ranked as the No. 4 punter in the high school class of 2016, according to Scout.com, but he only started at punter for one season. As a freshman, he averaged 39.2 yards per punt.
He lost the starting punting job before the 2017 season to Australian Matt Panton, a graduate transfer and ended up redshirting. Panton's success led UK to recruit former professional Australian Rules Football Player Max Duffy, who has held down the starting punting job the last two seasons and won the Ray Guy Award as college football's best punter in 2019.
