The 6-foot-7 forward has been a UK commit since August, but he decided to wait until this month to make things official. Whitney returned to his hometown of Chicago to sign with the Cats inside of his own childhood grade school. There were 300 students from the school and community in attendance for his signing, and each went home with a Khalil Whitney book mark.
Whitney’s often spoken about his troubled hometown and his odds-defying success on the court. Now, he wants to be that beacon of hope for other kids in his community.
