LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky junior outfielder Tristan Pompey was named Southeastern Conference Player of the Week for his 10-RBI week in three wins over No. 21 Louisville and South Carolina, it was announced on Monday.
Hitting leadoff, Pompey matched a career high with five runs driven in against Louisville in an 8-5 win on Tuesday at Cliff Hagan Stadium. He added three more RBI in a series-opening 14-1 win over South Carolina on Friday and led off Sunday’s series-clinching game with a home run, the fourth time he’s done that in his career.
