Kentucky’s Search for Steve Clinkscale’s Replacement is Wide Open

Mark Stoops’ search for a new defensive back coach continues in earnest. KSR sources recently described the coaching search as “wide open.”

Shortly after Steve Clinkscale accepted a job on Jim Harbaugh’s staff at Michigan, Kentucky zeroed in on Jonathan Cooley. Currently an assistant for the L.A. Rams, Cooley’s coaching career began as a graduate assistant for Stoops back in 2015-16. After negotiating with UK, Cooley agreed to remain on Sean McVay’s staff.

The official job posting will remain open until Wednesday, May 19.

Even though the search is considered wide open, one name to keep an eye on is Archie Collins.
