Kentucky’s D.J. Eliot looks to Florida State experience to slow down Georgia Tech

Kentucky defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot cited his own past experience on Florida State’s staff for reference as the Wildcats prepare for Georgia Tech’s triple-option offense in the TaxSlayer Bowl.

In 2012, Eliot was the defensive ends coach for the Seminoles when he went up against the Yellow Jackets in the ACC championship game. The Seminoles hung on to win 21-15, but it didn’t come easily because of Georgia Tech’s unconventional offense.

“I remember that we were just holding on to get a stop,” Eliot said this week. “If you can just get a stop, it’s a victory.
