Kentucky track and field superstar Abby Steiner has been named a Bowerman Award semifinalist by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Monday afternoon.
The Bowerman Award, the most prestigious award in collegiate track and field, takes both indoor and outdoor seasons into consideration to decide the best men’s and women’s collegiate track & field athlete of the year.
Finalists for the award will be announced on June 27.
Since Steiner’s last watchlist appearance on June 7, she has earned NCAA titles in the 200-meter dash and 4x400m relay, after winning the indoor 200m at the NCAA Indoor Championships in March.
