In the opening round of the 2024 SEC Tournament, Kentucky women’s soccer suffered a crushing defeat against Tennessee, losing 1-0.

The Wildcats had a strong game, outscoring the Volunteers 15–5, but they couldn’t turn their opportunities into goals.

Sammi Woods of Tennessee scored the game-winning goal in the fifteenth minute and, despite Kentucky’s best attempts, it was unable to level.

The Cats, who had displayed a lot of potential this season, found it difficult to accept this defeat. Their 11-4-4 overall record, which includes a 3-3-4 record in SEC play, shows that they have been a resilient and tough squad.
