Kentucky women’s basketball (2-3) was defeated by the North Carolina State Wolfpack (5-0), 84-55 on Thursday evening.
The Thanksgiving day slate saw Kentucky battle NC State in the U.S. Virgin Islands as a part of Paradise Jam.
The Wildcats had a glimpse of hope before facing the undefeated Wolfpack as they returned senior Maddie Scherr, who missed the past two games with an injury she suffered on Nov. 11 against South Carolina Upstate. Scherr averaged 13 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in two games before her injury.
Kentucky came out and grabbed the first basket, which was followed up by an 11-0 NC State run, forcing Kentucky to call a quick timeout.
