LEXINGTON — As if the size of Kentucky's challenge at No. 1 Alabama was not enough, the Wildcats are set to play the game with a double-digit number of usual contributors unavailable.
The absences are believed to be due to a combination of injuries and COVID-19 quarantines due to positive tests and contact tracing. While the situation looks harrowing considering Kentucky was already a 30-point underdog before reports of the absences began to surface, the source said UK had not considered asking the league to postpone the game.
Running back Chris Rodriguez; linebackers Jamin Davis, D'Eryk Jackson and Torrance Davis; tight ends Justin Rigg and Brenden Bates; punter Max Duffy; offensive guard Luke Fortner and defensive backs Taj Dodson and Jamari Brown are among the players unavailable for the game, a UK spokeswoman confirmed.
