Former Kentucky Wildcats baseball star AJ Reed, the unanimous 2014 player of the year in college baseball, hit for the cycle as the Lancaster Jethawks defeated Visalia Rawhide 11-3 on Tuesday night.
It became official in the eighth inning when he hit a single.
Reed had hit his league-leading 16th homer in the first inning, hit a RBI-double in the fifth and added a RBI-triple in the seventh. He became the first JetHawks (36-29) player to hit for the cycle since Marc Wik on June 2 at High Desert.
Reed is currently playing for the Class A+ affiliate of the Houston Astros.
