When the news broke about Derek Willis being arrested, I didn’t mind too much. I’m in college just like him. I drink, I’ve had my fair share of drunk nights. Not many college kids haven’t. So, all was forgiven on my side of the issue. I knew he likely faced a suspension, but when you’re on a podium like Kentucky basketball players, it is deserved.
Once the new details were revealed, my opinion did a complete 180.
And once the video was released, I realized things may be worse than I had imagined.
He is only a few days shy of his 21st birthday and it’s summer break, so partying is somewhat expected.
