Kentucky WBB predicted to finish 2nd to last in SEC

After finishing in a tie for dead last in the Southeastern Conference a season ago, the outside media isn’t exactly high on Kentucky women’s basketball bouncing back in 2023-24.

On Tuesday, the league released preseason All-SEC Teams and the predicted order of finish for this coming women’s basketball season, as voted on by members of the media. Kentucky was tabbed 13th out of 14 possible teams, only beating out Vanderbilt for the title of the worst projected team in the conference. Additionally, no Wildcats were named to either of the Preseason All-SEC Teams.

In what was Kyra Elzy’s third year as head coach, Kentucky finished the 2022-23 season with a 12-19 overall record, including a 2-14 mark in the SEC and no NCAA Tournament appearance.
