The best part about Spring Practice is actually getting to watch practice. It’s not because you can discover the secret to the team’s success or see who will be the next proven highlight maker. There’s too much time between now and the fall for things to change. Besides, you stick to the basics in spring, playing base schemes on both sides of the ball.
What I like to do is watch the coaches coach. I like to see what they’re looking for, who they’re yelling at and how their basic interactions with players. There’s also just something that warms the heart when hear pads pop and mouths spit out trash talk.
