The combination of key injuries and Alabama just being really good was too much to overcome for Kentucky as the Wildcats suffered a 99-70 loss to the Crimson Tide in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament Friday night.
The 27-point loss was the biggest SEC Tournament loss in program history for Kentucky.
Alabama (25-7) broke the game open early in the second half with hot shooting and lockdown defensive pressure. The Tide finished 11-for-29 from the three-point line, compared to just 5-for-19 for the Wildcats.
Andrew Carr led Kentucky with 18 points but he was limited to just 19 minutes of action due to early foul trouble (thanks Doug Shows).
