Kentucky suffers heartbreaking loss to No. 1 Georgia

Kentucky (1-2, 0-2 SEC) took a 9-6 lead into the fourth quarter last night against No. 1 Georgia.

Unfortunately, in the final stanza, the Bulldogs (3-0, 1-0 SEC) scored the game’s only touchdown. The Wildcats answered with another field goal and Georgia got out of Lexington with a 13-12 victory.

For Kentucky, there were some positive signs in the aftermath of last weekend’s disappointing 31-6 loss to South Carolina.

For starters, the Cats showed that they can be one of the top defenses in the Southeastern Conference, if not in college football. Brad White’s bunch stifled Georgia, holding the Bulldogs to just 63 yards in the first half.
