Kentucky star PJ Washington declares for NBA draft

LEXINGTON, Ky. - PJ Washington's Kentucky career is finished.

The sophomore forward announced his intention to enter the NBA draft Tuesday. Unlike a year ago when Washington tested the draft waters only to return to school, he plans to begin his professional career this year.

The move marks the end of a stellar sophomore season for Washington, who earned consensus third-team All-America honors after leading Kentucky in points (18.3) and rebounds (7.2) per game. He capped his UK career by returning from a sprained foot, which sidelined him for the Wildcats' first two NCAA Tournament games, to total 44 points and 15 rebounds against Houston and Auburn in the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight.
