Preseason practices are underway in the Joe Craft Center, but one of the newcomers on Kentucky’s roster is still out with an injury.
Dontaie Allen, the state’s reigning Mr. Basketball, has not fully recovered from the ACL injury he suffered midway through his senior season at Pendleton County. Rehab is going well for Allen, “but he has not been practicing,” John Calipari said at UK Basketball Media Day.
“He has been doing things in the gym,” Cal added. “My guess is he is still a month away.”
Allen finished his high school career with 3,255 career points, which ranks 11th all-time in state history.
