Kentucky senior Abbey Cheek was named 2019 Southeastern Conference Player of the Year on Tuesday.
Cheek is the first Kentucky player to ever win the award.

Cheek was also named First Team All-SEC and placed on the All-SEC Defensive Team for third base.
Seniors Katie Reed and Jenny Schaper were also recognized for their outstanding seasons, as Reed was named the 2019 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Second Team All-SEC and SEC All-Defensive for shortstop.
