LEXINGTON – It takes some time to run down the list of accomplishments of the Kentucky softball seniors.
Third baseman Abbey Cheek became the first player in the 22-year history of the program to be named SEC Player of the Year earlier this month. She was joined on the All-SEC first team by catcher Jenny Schaper. Shortstop Katie Reed was named the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year in recognition of her work on the field, where she was named to the All-SEC second team and SEC all-defensive team, and off it, where she logged more than 100 community service hours and maintained a 4.
