Kentucky men’s basketball signee, P.J. Washington, won the most valuable player award at the inaugural Allen Iverson Roundball Classic this past Friday. The high school all-star game was hosted in Portsmouth, Virginia where Washington earned top honors.
Washington, scored his game-high 37 points in Team Honor’s 198-152 win over Team Loyalty. He was joined by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who scared 21 points and earned MVP honors at the Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic last week. He had a game-high 29 points, nine rebounds and six assists in his 19 minutes of play.
No. 11 overall prospect in the 2017 class, Washington was a member of the 2016 USA Men’s U18 National Team that won a gold medal over the summer.
