Kentucky set a new NCAA tournament record for blocks

There’s a new NCAA tournament record for blocked shots in a single game and it belongs to the 2015-16 Kentucky team with its 15 blocks against Stony Brook. The Wildcats took the 18-year old record from, well, the Wildcats. Kentucky held the previous record with 14 blocks in its 1998 tournament game against UCLA.

Skal Labissiere led the way with six blocks, one shy of tying Anthony Davis’ school record for a tournament game. He had five blocks in the first half.

Other contributors to the record:

Derek Willis – 2
Alex Poythress – 2
Jamal Murray – 2
Isaiah Briscoe – 1
Marcus Lee – 1
Charles Matthews – 1
