Kentucky men's basketball team was awarded a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will face No. 15 seed Abilene Christian in the Midwest Region.
It begins the march toward a hopeful Final Four appearance for UK. It would be the first for Kentucky since 2015 and would mark the fifth under coach John Calipari.
But there's a lot of work to be done to get there, starting with Abilene Christian in Jacksonville, Florida. The Midwest Regional ends in Kansas City, Missouri, March 29-31.
Kentucky (27-6) is coming off a disheartening loss to Tennessee in the SEC Tournament semifinal, the third time the two powers in the league had met this season.
