Mark Stoops held a press conference this evening to address Kentucky’s quarterback situation prior to week 1.
Stoops named Penn State transfer Will Levis the team’s starting quarterback and announced that Joey Gatewood and Beau Allen will compete for the backup job. Stoops added that Gatewood is expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal.

The official statement said Gatewood would sit out of practice until a transfer decision is made.
