Kentucky players understand importance of the rivalry game, hoping to match last year’s outcome

Last season, the No. 16 Kentucky Wildcats trotted into the Yum! Center set to take on the 9-3 Louisville Cardinals with two losses under their belt: a season-opening blowout loss to Duke and a deflating neutral court loss to an unranked Seton Hall. Outside the losses, UK struggled to defeat mediocre competition in blowout fashion, a night-and-day difference from the dominant group we saw during the mid-summer exhibitions in the Bahamas.

Fast forward a year later, and the story isn’t far off from the current group of Wildcats set to take on UofL on Saturday afternoon.

While the 2019-20 team has one more loss through 11 games, the story behind each outing is much of the same.
