University of Kentucky Track & Field commit, and U.S. Olympian, Sydney McLaughlin has been named Youth Athlete of the Year by USA Track & Field, the national governing body for the sport. McLaughlin will be honored Saturday, December 3, at the Jesse Owens Awards, taking place in Orlando, FL.
McLaughlin set world records in U18 and U20 divisions in the 400-meter hurdles on her way to qualifying for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team. As a high school athlete, McLaughlin hasn’t lost a race since 2014, when she was just 14 years old, an incredible run of top finishes.
