The Wildcats held off a late Penn State rally to win the Citrus Bowl 27-24.
Kentucky reached ten wins with defense, big plays on special teams, Josh Allen and Benny Snell. Snell broke the Kentucky all-time rushing record held by Sonny Collins with 26 carries for 144 yards and two touchdowns. Allen finished with three sacks, four total tackles, and a blocked kick, playing with a sprained finger in the fourth quarter.
The tenth win didn’t come without a little drama. The Cats lead 27-7 at the start of the fourth quarter but Trace McSorely played through a foot injury to lead the Nittany Lions to 17 straight points.
