Kentucky tried to mount a great comeback the end of the game, but Tyler Herro’s somewhat open three-pointer did go through the basket and Alabama defeated the Wildcats 77-75 this afternoon in Tuscaloosa.
After a solid first half, Kentucky (10-3) went cold in the second half and couldn’t recover. For the first time since 2011, the Cats are 0-1 in the Southeastern Conference.
Tevin Mack led the Crimson Tide (10-3) with 22 points, including 6-for-6 from long range in the first half alone.
P.J. Washington paced Kentucky with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Keldon Johnson added 13 points and 7 boards.
