The 3-point shot giveth, and the 3-point shot taketh away. Kentucky learned that the hard way on Tuesday night in Chicago.
The Wildcats opened up the Champions Class against No. 1 Kansas by connecting on nine shots from beyond the arc on 23 attempts in the first half, good enough for a 39.1 percent clip. Freshman guard Rob Dillingham was responsible for four of those long-range bombs, all within a two-minute span, which helped lift Kentucky from down one point to up by three. Fifth-year guard Antonio Reeves would cash in another triple less than 15 seconds after Dillingham’s fourth, creating a six-point lead for the ‘Cats.
