A year after winning the SEC Tournament, the Kentucky women’s basketball team is the lowest-seeded team in the event.
Despite a career-high 27 points from Maddie Scherr, the Wildcats closed out the 2022-23 regular season on Sunday with an 83-63 loss to Tennessee on Senior Day at Memorial Coliseum. Kentucky closed out the season by losing seven straight games, including a loss to Texas A&M, who previously only had one win in conference play. The Cats finished 10-18 overall and just 2-14 in SEC play.
The two-win SEC season will force Kyra Elzy’s Cats to start their journey in the SEC Tourney early.
