Kentucky hockey was swept during a road weekend away at Florida Gulf Coast.
The Wildcats were given a tall task to defeat the No. 1 team in the Southeast Region in FGCU and were ultimately unable to rise to the occasion as they lost both games at Hertz Arena this past weekend.
On Friday Kentucky was defeated 4-1 with its only goal coming late in the second period. Saturday would see a more tightly contested bout despite the 8-3 final.
Florida Gulf Coast struck first with a goal in the first period, but Kentucky’s Cameron Chabot answered a few minutes later to even up the score.
