LEXINGTON — The Kentucky football coaching staff's connection to Youngstown, Ohio, is growing deeper.
UK coach Mark Stoops is hiring Youngstown native and former Youngstown State coach Eric Wolford as his new offensive line coach, the school confirmed in a news release Thursday. Wolford joins Stoops, recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow, defensive backs coach Steve Clinkscale and safeties coach Frank Buffano as Youngstown natives on the staff.
Wolford replaces beloved former UK offensive line coach John Schlarman, who died in November after a two-year battle with cancer.
“I’m honored to have Eric Wolford join our staff,” Stoops said in the release.
