A win over the No. 1 team in the country by Mark Stoops’ team on Saturday would mean many different things for the Kentucky football program. From an historic perspective, it would accomplish something no other team has done before.
Since Kentucky first traveled to Tuscaloosa to play Alabama in football, a 16-8 loss to Wallace Wade’s team in 1923, the Wildcats have never defeated the Crimson Tide on their home turf.
Alabama is 37-2-1 against Kentucky, with a 21-0-1 record against the Cats in the state of Alabama. Since World War II only two games in Alabama have been decided by ten points or less.
