For the better part of the last year or so, elite high school prospects James Wiseman, Cole Anthony, and Vernon Carey Jr. have been deemed the top three recruits in the class of 2019. There are certainly other talented recruits in the class, but you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone that feels those three haven’t stood out from their peers.
Just under two weeks ago, however, one elite 2020 prospect decided to throw a curveball to the various recruiting outlets and submit his name in the running for the top overall player in the class.
Anthony Edwards – a 6-foot-5 phenom out of Atlanta, GA – announced on November 20 he would be reclassifying to the class of 2019, forcing a jumble at the top of the rankings.
