Kentucky’s Bailey Rouse threw himself into a free kick from teammate Marcel Menzier and bodied home a goal that sent the Cats to a 2-1 win over visiting Lipscomb on Saturday and into the Elite Eight of the NCAA men’s soccer tournament.
Menzier took the free kick just outside the right corner of Lipscomb’s 18-yard box and put it perfectly on target toward the far post where it found the chest of Rouse in the 81st minute of their home Sweet Sixteen match at The Bell.
The score broke a 1-1 tie that took almost 75 minutes for both teams to create, but they did so in a flourish.
