Kentucky guard C.J. Fredrick expected to miss entire 2021-22 season with hamstring injury

LEXINGTON - Former Covington Catholic star C.J. Fredrick will likely have to wait another year to play for Kentucky basketball.

Fredrick, who recently returned to practice after missing most of preseason as he rehabbed from offseason leg surgery, is now expected to miss the entire 2021-22 season with a hamstring injury, UK announced Saturday. Fredrick is scheduled for surgery this week to repair a left hamstring injury.

“This news hurts so much because I love this team and we have a great group of guys,” Fredrick said in a news release. “I have the best teammates, coaches, medical staff, friends and family that will get me back where I need to be.
