GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Linebacker Kash Daniel fought back tears. The normally jubilant Benny Snell was lost for words.
Kentucky quarterback Terry Wilson took in the moment as fans and family mobbed players from the Ben Hill Griffin Stadium stands.
And Kentucky director of player development and former quarterback Freddie Maggard, a freshman on the 1987 UK team that started the streak, shook his head as he exchanged high fives with a fan walking toward the Kentucky locker room.
The 31-game losing streak was finished. The question became, ‘What’s next?’
“For our program, our fans, I know they were tired,” UK athletics director Mitch Barnhart said.
