LEXINGTON — For the second-straight year, Kentucky has had a long-term project erupt in a prolific way.
Last season, it was Josh Allen, a two-star turned first-round NFL pick. This year, it’s Calvin Taylor, an unrated basketball player transformed into a behemoth of a defensive end.
Allen led the SEC in sacks last year and Taylor is in a similar spot: he’s the conference’s co-leader with 7.5 sacks through 11 games.
“Everybody talked about Josh (Allen) last year and the development piece,” coach Mark Stoops said, “but Calvin is equally as impressive with where he came from.
